If a team has an Apothecary, then they can use them once per game in order to attempt to Patch-up a player on their team that has either been Knocked-out or suffered a Casualty.
If an Apothecary is used to Patch-up a Knocked-out player then the player is not removed from the pitch and placed in the Knocked-out Box of their Dugout as normal. Instead, the player will become Stunned in the square they are in.
If the player was Knocked-out as a result of an Injury by the Crowd, they are placed in the Reserves Box of their Dugout instead.
If an Apothecary is used to Patch-up a player that has suffered a Casualty, then it works slightly differently.
After a Casualty Roll is made for the player that has suffered a Casualty, their Coach may declare they are using their Apothecary. The opposing Coach makes a second Casualty Roll for the player, and the player’s controlling Coach may select either of the two results to apply. If a Badly Hurt result is selected, then the player is successfully Patched-up and placed into their Reserves Box instead of the Casualty Box.
